Acting For the Camera

Dates:        Mondays - August 1, 8, 15, 22

Time:          6 PM to 8 PM

Location:    The Village Gate at Medford Center 

Cost:           $100 for the 4-week series

Workshop attendees will learn the basics of acting for the camera. From screen tests to stationary scene work and moving single shot scenes, attendees will do on-camera work every session that will be edited for review in the following session. They'll learn the basic terminology of the film set, the importance of matching action and how to give the kind of performance that makes directors (and editors) happy. 

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Must have some training or theatrical acting experience

Instructor:
Rick Robinson

Rick Robinson is the current managing director of the Oregon Cabaret Theatre where he directed last fall's production of The 39 Steps. As a filmmaker, Rick directed every episode of the (IAWTV) award and ISA award-winning web series Pairings, where he was nominated for Best Director. He directed episodes 5 & 6 of the IAWTV-award winning series Night of the Zombie and co-wrote all six episodes of the mini-series with his writing partners David Nett & Andrew Deutsch. He directed (along with Frederick Snyder) the unreleased feature Alice and the Monster, a film that starred Anthony Geary (General Hospital), David H. Lawrence (Heroes), and Shannon Nelson (Drop Dead Gorgeous). As an actor on film, Rick played Richard Wright in the Streamy-nominated GOLD: the Series and Drew in Pairings.
